Coaching for Families
Helping parents navigate the enormity of raising children is an enormous privilege. I love sharing the resources I’ve gathered over the years. In addition to my scholarly research, I’ve trained with Dr. Suzi Tortora, RIE®, the Anna Freud Center, Sarah Lawrence College’s Early Childhood Center and I have done extensive research into the life and work of Emmi Pikler and Pikler Ház, all of which inform the way I work. I also have three children of my own and am grateful to have a deep and personal connection my work.

Here’s what to expect:
After a check-in question (which you’re always welcome to skip) adults quietly observe as babies explore developmentally appropriate and safe play objects. We practice minimal intervention unless we are needed for safety or support (we always attune and respond to our child’s cues around hunger, tiredness, nappy changes, or emotional refueling). We discuss whatever comes up for us.
The space is beautifully designed and the pace is intentionally slow, peaceful, and supportive. Expect to see your child “with new eyes,” as Magda Gerber, Founding Director of RIE®, once prompted.
When choosing a group, please consider nap schedules, social, and cognitive development, as well as general mobility level. If you have questions or requests, please reach out!
Spring 2025 infant groups are now forming!
“It really is a gift and service to families and communities to gather at Amber’s groups. She holds such a depth of research and knowledge on parenting and child development. With an open mind and release of expectations, anyone would benefit from Amber’s classes.”

Embodied Parenting: Creative Movement and Dyadic Bonding
In this dance wellness class based on the work of Dr. Suzi Tortora, you will learn how to read your baby and young child’s nonverbal cues, supporting their emotional and social development. The activities you will learn in class are based on the rich and growing body of research from the fields of neuroscience, infant development and psychology that demonstrate how babies do best when they have the opportunity to freely explore their world through active, physical, live, caring relationships. You will explore the specifics of your nonverbal relationship to discover the unique nonverbal signals that you and your child have created to communicate and bond. Expect to move, dance, and have a lot of fun!
Spill the Milk, Make a Toy
If you have a new baby and want to gather in a supportive and beautiful space to craft and process all the big changes, this is the class for you. I’ve partnered with Abney Park and the superlative Caroline Reid, an IBCLC and Hackney mum. Together, we’ll make make simple toys (no craft experience necessary!) and discuss new identities, routines, milk, play, and other topics. We’ll practice enabling our babies to freely play, move and explore, all while meeting others in a warm and nurturing environment.
