Coaching and counselling for individuals and families

We want the best for our children, yet parenting today can be bewildering. Most of us live within unsupportive societal structures, and we’re inundated with conflicting advice and expectations to keep all the balls in the air at once. Every child is unique, every family constellation is different and there’s no map for navigating it all.

As a coach and counsellor, I will meet you wherever you are and help you find more confidence, fulfilment, resilience, joy and ease. Together, we'll identify what you want and where you are challenged.

I believe that the quality of the connection between a child and their parents and caregivers is the foundation on which children are able to build an understanding of themselves, how they relate to others and how they are able to experience the world.

Caregiving is messy and full of variables, and perfection is never the goal. However, intention matters. I support families in their process of creating more intentional relationships with their children. I do this by listening wholeheartedly and sharing evidence-based resources. My approach is grounded in the principles of infant mental health, early childhood development and education, dance movement psychotherapy and the caregiving principles of RIE®.

By starting with our most fundamental relationships, I believe the care we give can radiate outwards. Together, we can create more conscious and connected families, homes and communities.

Amber and her big sister Margot

I facilitate RIE® and Pikler®-style playgroups in my home in London.

Here’s what to expect:

After a brief check-in (which you’re always welcome to skip) adults quietly observe as babies explore developmentally appropriate and safe play objects. We practice minimal intervention unless we are needed for safety or support (we always attune and respond to our child’s cues around hunger, tiredness, nappy changes, or emotional refueling). We discuss whatever comes up for us.

I welcome you into my home space and set a pace is intentionally slow, peaceful, and supportive. Expect to see your child “with new eyes,” as Magda Gerber, Founding Director of RIE®, once prompted.

When choosing a group, please consider nap schedules, social, and cognitive development, as well as general mobility. If you have questions or requests, please reach out!

Autumn 2025 groups are now forming. Please be in touch to join the list.

“It really is a gift and service to families and communities to gather at Amber’s groups. She holds such a depth of research and knowledge on parenting and child development. With an open mind and release of expectations, anyone would benefit from Amber’s classes.”
